General Electric (NYSE: GE) has for generations remained a staple stock for way too many investors. As a leading and driving component of the S&P 500 at just shy of 2 percent of its weighting and 76 plus percent of the S&P 500 Industrial Companies Index as well as a big driver of the Dow and other indexes - from brokers to mutual fund managers - GE has become a must own.
